Yorkie Doodle Dandy with William Wynne

Local author and World War II Veteran William Wynne will be joining us for a special Sunday afternoon program at 2 p.m. on May 7, 2017. Mr. Wynne served in the Pacific Theater of World War II with Smoky, a small Yorkshire Terrier whose service earned her eight battle stars and saved countless lives. Mr. Wynne will share his experiences with Smoky during the war, where she was an invaluable asset and the first documented therapy dog, and after the war, where she was a loving therapy dog and local television fixture.

Mr. Wynne’s book about his experiences with Smoky the War Dog, Yorkie Doodle Dandy, will be available for sale for $15 following the program.

No registration is required for this program. Questions? Call the Reference Desk at 440-988-4230.
